Chime Cord

This single braided cord, available in 1.4 mm and 1.8 mm diameters, is made from a non-elastic polyester blend tailored for wind chimes. Its high durability and strength ensure excellent outdoor performance, resisting water, wind, sun, abrasion, chemicals, and salt. It withstands challenging environments like sea spray, desert heat, and mountain winters. 

The 1.8 mm cord offers a breaking strength up to 130 pounds, suitable for chimes 27" to 74" long and up to 35 pounds.

The 1.4 mm version breaks at up to 100 pounds and fits chimes 16" to 36" and 20 pounds or less.

Both come unspooled in 20-yard (60-foot) lengths, come in five colors, and are un-waxed for easy tying. Use grommets for “through the tube” chimes, though these are not included.

While restringing is not typically recommended, those with average crafting skills can achieve good results.
